Building the Story
The Bench is a stop-motion short film that explores kindness, empathy, and how small actions can create a bigger impact over time. The story follows a simple interaction between two strangers and slowly unfolds into an emotional narrative about humanity and change.
The project was created using handmade stop-motion techniques, where every frame was carefully planned and captured manually. From character creation to scene setup, the entire process focused on creating a raw and personal visual style that supports the emotional tone of the story.

Building the Story
Before starting the animation process, the project went through multiple stages of visual development including character sketches, environment concepts, and storyboard planning. These explorations helped shape the mood, pacing, and emotional flow of the film before moving into production.
A lot of focus was placed on visual storytelling instead of dialogue. Expressions, movement, lighting, and camera framing were used to communicate emotions naturally and make the audience connect with the characters through the visuals alone.
Sound, Editing & Process
Since the film was created using stop motion, every movement had to be captured frame by frame, making the process detailed and time-intensive. Along with filmmaking, I also worked on the editing and sound design to enhance the atmosphere and emotional impact of the story.
Ambient sounds, footsteps, and subtle audio textures were added carefully to make the scenes feel more immersive and grounded. The project helped me explore how filmmaking, animation, editing, and sound can work together to create meaningful visual storytelling.
